Being interviewed under caution can be daunting. Understanding the process in advance helps you stay calm and make informed decisions at every stage.

The caution makes clear that you do not have to say anything, but that anything you do say may be given in evidence. An accredited police station representative is there to advise you privately before the interview begins, to make representations on disclosure, and to intervene where questioning is unfair.

From the initial consultation to the conclusion of the interview, your representative ensures that your rights under PACE are respected and that you understand your options in plain English.
